The 2023 Rain fed wheat research activities on the Mambila Plateau has commenced. The Institute’s Director/CEO Prof. Baba Gana Jugudum Kabir alongside the Director of Research/HOD Cereals – Dr Zakari Turaki, the Seed officer and a wheat breeder – Dr Kachalla Kyari Mala as well as other staff of the Institute were at the Gembu out Station today for planting and other activities on the plateau.
The Mambila Plateau is one of the three suitable locations for rain-fed Wheat production in Nigeria.
